Manufacturing industry is a quite complex to manage. Products from the company varies and change from time to time involving many different manufacturing resources from equipment, tools, raw material, energy and people. Beside those, manufacturing industry also having any other challenges such as must ensure they have complete visibility throughout their supply chain for their own compliance and that of their suppliers. Regulations often require the ability to track items and materials used during the manufacturing process. At some extent, due to pressure from other division for Production rate or due to other reasons, company postpone or delay preventive maintenance or replace factory components with lower-quality items. This practice may create unsafe conditions in harsh manufacturing environments if these lesser components can’t stand up to operating conditions. Poor maintenance can cause health and safety issues, as well as cause unplanned or excessive downtime. Manufacturers need to perform preventive maintenance on recommended schedules to keep operating costs low and throughput high while helping to ensure worker safety.
In MIT, we help Manufacturing companies by developing integration between sensor/device and Enterprise Resource Planning Software so that manufacturing process can be monitored and aligned with Enterprise Resource Planning software. The other thing that MIT could helped are developing process and monitoring control and developing specific tailored application to support specific process in the Manufacturing industry.
